Speech and Language Therapy
Do you or your child:
Have difficulty understanding others
Find it challenging to express wants or communicate ideas
Struggle in social interactions or establishing relationships
Have concerns about developmental milestones
Use an Augmentative and Alternative Communications (AAC) device
I work with kids and their families in downtown Toronto to promote effective communication at home, at school, and in the wider world! I use a play-, literacy-, and interest-based approach to motivate kids to develop their communication skills, and also empower parents, caregivers, and educators to support those skills.
I am a registered Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 20 years experience in private practice and special needs classrooms in Toronto and New York City. I support children and young adults with communication disorders, Autism, developmental disabilities, and using strategies and communication tools like AAC.
Every child and family has their own communication needs. Let’s meet (by videoconference or phone) to discuss your goals and a possible treatment plan. If I am not a good fit, I can suggest other resources for your family.
Therapy sessions are based on your communication goals. Childrens' sessions are play-based, using their favourite toys and games, or items from my library of resources from years of working with kids of all abilities.
I can perform formal and informal assessments along with written reports. I can also prepare for meetings with your child’s education team or complete insurance forms.
Private speech-language therapy can promote effective communication and empower parents, caregivers and educators to support the client.
Referrals are not necessary. Many clients arrange speech and language therapy themselves or for a family member.
Sometimes a health care professional or educator will recommend speech and language therapy. For more information, you can review CASLPO's advice on when to see a Speech-Language Pathologist.
I encourage you to contact me for a free consultation.
